So wait… is Splinter a movie or a video game?

Good question! If you figure out what to call this, please let us know. It is not quite a movie, and it is not quite a video game. It sits somewhere in between. Unlike other full motion video games, the movie clips in Splinter are shown embedded into the environment and there is some exploration involved. It definitely is not a video game in any traditional sense, though. We should probably move on before I start dragging out phrases like “ludo-cinematic experiment.”

Will I like it?

This is a new style of storytelling so there are no guarantees, but if you are a fan of Telling Lies, Kentucky Route Zero, Gone Home, Enter the Void, David Lynch, Erica, or other experimental narratives, that will increase your chances of enjoying Splinter.

How long is it?

A full playthrough is about 2 hours long, similar to a feature film.
